Weekly Wrap Up #87 -I am a year older and so far behind

Reading time 5 mins

mvHello Lovelies! Welcome to my weekly wrap up!

I have been so busy since my last wrap up. Yesterday was my birthday, I turned a year older. OLDER! I think I am also getting better though, (just agree with me on this, please!).

Last week, as most of you know, I went to BEA with my daughter Belle. I have been trying to put together some sort of post about it, but ….I have been sick since Tuesday. I worked Monday and Tuesday and then I started feeling shitty Tuesday evening. I spent the rest of the week sick. I was even sick on my birthday, and I am still feeling crappy today. It is the sick that won’t stop. Yesterday I tried to suck it up, I went to work (i usually work Sunday, but they needed me Saturday this week). Yesterday was the roughest day of work like ever. I was just tired and not feeling well and everything took twice as long as it should have. Then I rushed home to get ready for a cake celebration at home and then a hotel party with friends. I had so much fun last night (thanks to dayquil and mucinex). Yes, I drank a lot. No, I didn’t over do it (unless of course you think that partying whilst sick is a bad thing, then yes. my birthday only comes once a year, and only every few years on a saturday. i couldn’t pass up this epic opportunity to ring in my new year with friends and alcohol!). Today I have a lingering sinus headache, so I think I am getting better.

This Thursday the new Beyond the Books will be posted. This week we are discussing The BEST part of your day. This should be pretty easy since we all have one of these. Looking forward to hearing about yours.

I posted videos this week:

I did manage a BEA video though…

I just wanted to highlight some of the books I got, here is the rest…

Oh and Owlcrate and Uppercase came this week. I am a little upset about Uppercase. I hope the book is good…

What the hell is in this package? A book, tea, and some postcards for $29.99!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Fine wine gets better with age, I like to think of myself as wine 🙂
Sorry you are not feeling well. I hope you feel better! *hugs*

Awesome Haul! I had a blast at BEA and I was glad to meet you!

Have a great week, Karen! Happy Reading!

Oh my–you got some awesome books! I’m extremely curious about Jennifer Niven’s new book. I hope you enjoy it, and I look forward to reading your thoughts on it. Sorry that you’re disappointed about your Uppercase. I’ve been really curious about Uppercase vs. Owlcrate. I hope you get to feeling better!

I have been disappointing by Owlcrate before too, but that was because their book choice for the month was shit. I didn’t read Niven’s first book, All the Bright Places. I know it got a lot of love (it was sad right?). Holding Up the Universe doesn’t come out til October, so it will be a wile before I get to reading it.

I had a blast at BEA but it was exhausting for this big girl…lol. I was not use to being on my feet for that long of time…you got way more books than me. I didn’t go to a lot of the extra things and kind of wish I had, but there is always next time. 🙂

I’m listening and watching your vlog as I type this! I hope you’re feeling better… a few people who went to BEA seem to have come home with illnesses!

I really really want to read that latest Kubica!

Dark Matter doesn’t come out til August, I think. It is up on Edelweiss, if you really want it. Thanks for the birthday wishes!

Thanks Grace! I thought about you a lot while I was there, not in weird way (or at least I don’t think so). But the fact that your mostly review ebooks came to my mind a few times. There is a beauty and freedom in that, I don’t think I am ready for it. It would have saved me from carrying so many things though. There were only a few ebook handouts, and most were for samplers (who wants those??).

Happy belated birthday (again!) and I hope you are feeling better (again!- this is the problem when you binge comment 😉 ) I am SO glad that you had fun though- I really feel like there is nothing wrong with alcohol… ever, so you’re good hahah.

I feel rather famous being in your BEA video! It’s such a good idea, I quite think I will try my hand at one next year- when I have my good camera back, that is. My dad took it to Greece this year so I kind of failed with pictures- I am still bummed that we didn’t get any! I told Val that you and Belle were the highlight of Day 1 at BEA for me!! I really hope you will be coming next year too! (Just think about how much CLOSER it will be, YAY!)

Yeah! I need a better camera, but it works for now I guess. I am definitely going to BEA NY next year! I was thinking about how much easier it was for me to feel comfortable because I had Belle with me. Next year I will probably be on my own. NY will be so much closer. Now the question is do I try to stay in New Haven and take the train, or just pay for a crazy expensive hotel near convention? Maybe I should start saving now, lol!
You and Val were definitely one of the highlights. I wish we would have hung out more. Like, I feel like I missed so many social events. I was a bit paranoid to drive after the accident I got in on day one though.
I almost don’t want to post a wrap up due to the fact that I got no pictures. I have no pictures of the bloggers I met and none of the authors. Picture taking was a complete fail, despite that video.
Thank for the birthday wishes! I had a great time on Saturday.

If it makes you feel better, I’m currently reading Girl Against the Universe and really liking it. So there’s that hahahahha.

Thanks Heather! I actually did get a picture with Kristen Simmons, but Belle has it and she is at some school function this weekend. She is the only author I got a picture with. She was so sweet and remembered an email I sent her, which was awesome!
