Weekly Wrap Up #146

Reading time 3 mins

mv Hello Lovelies! Welcome to my weekly wrap up!

This was a rough week. Thanks to everyone who commented last week with their condolences. I spend a lot of time with my son and this was a learning experience for me. There is a side of my son that remind me so much of my younger self. We are definitely closer now and have come to an understanding. I could go on and talk about the service but really my focus this week has been my son. That’s all I want to say about that.

I had Tuesday-Thursday off and I still didn’t manage to get much done. Most of my days were spent driving my son and his friends around, but it felt good to be helping him this week. I got zero workouts in and didn’t really get much reading done either. I am not behind per se but I am getting close to it.

This coming week I hope to knuckle down and get back on track. Besides getting back to reading and working out this week I also plan on getting my house holiday lights up. This is no small feat for me. Last year I had a good layout, but with only one plug the lights kept shorting out. I became an expert at changing fuses for those lights, even in the dark. This year I need to come up with something different, and buy all new lights since I happily threw all those sets away. (before you ask, yes they were advertised as “outdoor lights”. i have no idea why they kept shorting out)

Oh! I almost forgot to mention that I went to my local library for their semi-annual book sale this past Sunday with my youngest daughter. She had so much fun filling her bag (it was $5 per bag on Sunday). I snagged a few books for myself, as well.

Fitness this week:

Nothing really happened this week. I had such good intentions but it looks like I will be starting over again at week one of Fit Body Guide on Monday. I am not giving up. My workout routine is so important right now with all the food and holiday treats in my face. I am actually down 3 lbs just from having my routine thrown off. That was one good thing about it.

I didn’t do as well with water intake this past week either. Next week I will get back to it.

I did add some fitness books to my TBR and I am hoping to have some motivation and hopefully some recommendations for fitness reading. See, those things can be combined!

I’ve been thinking about you ever since I commented on your post. I hope you’re holding up alright. If you ever need to talk, you can always write me. Just DM me on Twitter or something.

House holiday lights sounds good 🙂 will you be sharing pics? I hope that can help bring some more positivity into your week. I mean, in the end, when you’ve figured out all the shorts 😀 maybe they were just not very good quality, is all.. I’ve found that most Christmas lights, even the little tree ones, short out quite quickly. It’s a futile attempt for me, most of the time 😀 luckily, over here nobody really decorates their houses – first of all, I live in a 5 story condo aparment building. So none of that here 🙂

Oh yay, your bookish shopping sounds great 🙂

I hope this week treats you well, Karen.

I am happy that your son was able to find some comfort in you, and I hope that your two continue to heal together. My daughter got ToD at the release event, but I think I am going to hold out on the library waitlist for an electronic copy. My wrists would not be able to survive the size of that book. I liked Luckiest Girl Alive. It’s dark and twisty a la Gone Girl. Very unlikable characters, but the story is just engrossing. Enjoy all your new books and good luck with the lights!

I’m glad to hear you and your son are doing better. I know that you have been so worried about him. Good luck putting those lights up. I wish we could put lights up. But we really have no reason to where we live other than to let the animals see lights, we don’t have neighbors. Mountain living sometimes has its downfalls. lol.. But my daughter and I are going to go through all the decorations and get everything ready for inside. She’s pretty excited. She has her won little tree that goes in her room too. lol… Hope you have a wonderful week ahead.

I would probably still put them up if we lived in the middle of nowhere. My dad dies when I was 6 on xmas eve so my childhood xmases were painful. It is now so fun for me to celebrate with my kids. Thanks for stopping by Jenea!

I hadn’t seen last weeks post so I have just gone and read it. Terrible. I am glad you can be there for your son, I am sure it means a lot to him. It’s no wonder you didn’t get much else done. I imagine it will be a while till it feels like things get back to anywhere near normal x

It’s wonderful that you and your son are getting through it together. I’ve been thinking about you since I read your post.

I usually buy lights after the holiday when the sales are on. Got so many lights now I’m think I’m set for years to come. LOL I’m itching to decorate now.

I’m so curious about Paper Ghosts! It just sounds great. I’m trying to get back on the wagon so to speak when it comes to healthy eating and drinking more water.

I think you can forgive yourself for not working out–you stepped up as a mom and are amazing. My heart is smiling that you and your son have grown closer in this tragedy. On your lighter note–I enjoy the library sales too (probably too much:).

I am glad that through this tragedy you and your son were able to come together. I will continue to keep you and his friend’s family in my thoughts. It’s understandable you didn’t do many other things throughout the week. I am also trying to knuckle down this week and finish two more books. I want to make a nice dent in my holiday reading pile.

Glad you’ve been able to be there for your soon this week. Don’t feel bad you’ve been prioritising other things lately and you’ve needed to. You may fall a little behind but it’s totally okay.

The library sale sounds like it was really fun. I think I would have come out with quite a few books so I’m sort of glad my library doesn’t so that (at least not that I’m aware of).

Hope you’ve had a good week this week.

Last year I went crazy at the library sale with my daughter. I went to the preview and bought a lot. I went back Sunday and came home with 2 extremely full bags, plus my daughter, Belle, had one too. Some of those books are still sitting on my shelf unread. I didn’t go as crazy this time. Thanks for stopping by Becky!
