Weekly Wrap Up #141

Reading time 2 mins

mv Hello Lovelies! Welcome to my weekly wrap up!

Good news! I told you last week that I had to go to court for my son. We went and since this is not the first time I have been there, we were prepared to wait ALL day to be called. The first bit of good news is that we were the first ones to be called. That never happens, or didn’t the last 5 times I have been there. Then, they agreed to drop the charges if I can prove that my son has started night school. I withdrew him from High School last week (with glee!) and now I just need to get him a state ID so he can start night school. That is the plan for next Thursday.

I am really happy for him right now.

He is on his way to being the adult that he cries he is. Lol! Wait til he gets his first job and sees how much it sucks. Belle, my oldest, has been crying all week about how much she hates her job. Welcome to my world Sweetheart! Working is the pits when you don’t like your job. I am there right now. Hopefully not for long. I haven’t heard anything but I know soon I will be doing something I like better. It is inevitable.

I got a few books read this week. Unfortunately, I wasted over 200 pages of reading on a book I just can’t finish. After 200 pages of reading if I still don’t understand who the main character is there is something wrong. I will be putting a Recent DNFs post together soon so you can see that book and a few others for yourself.

Fitness this week:

I worked out today. Yay! I did some boxing, some squats, and even some burpees. I found this awesome routine that switches moves every 20 seconds. It is really hard though. I regret not doing any plank exercises. I found this great routine in a magazine, of all places, that I plan on trying out tomorrow….or Monday. Yea, probably Monday.

I think it is unfair how much fitness ground I have lost. At only 9 minutes in I wanted to die. After 20 mins I called it quits. I did finish the whole routine though, so there’s that.

Last week I posted:

Glad to hear about your son, Karen. Yay, I hope he enjoys his study. 😁
I’ll start doing some jogging tomorrow. Been very lazy this year. Even though I haven’t gained weight I feel not as fit as I used to be. You really inspire me! Thank you. ❤️
Enjoy your book and have a wonderful week.

Running is tough, but very rewarding. I trained really hard when I was in the army. I even went on to run a marathon in 2005. That was a long time ago. I can barely run a 1/2 mile today. Good luck to you. You are inspiring me right back.
      Thanks for stopping by!

Oh yay! I’m glad it went well for you. I hope you can get it all settled easily with the night school. It’s nice you didn’t have to sit there all day!

Lol yes indeed 😀 17 year old adult… I’ve only started feeling *a little bit* like an adult this year, and I am 29 :DDD life!

I hope you find out something about a possible transfer soon too, rooting for you. And curious about that DNF post, hope I don’t miss it.

I should really do some fitness stuff too… meh. Planks are great, you know why? Cause you can put a book under yourself and keep reading 😀 (joke, but I have honestly done that before.)

The Coincidence Makers sound interesting just from the title! And I’ll have to read your review of Sip.

I never thought about putting a book under me during a plank. All I think about is how many more seconds I need to hold this with my phone acting as a stopwatch in my face.
My DNF post went up today. Thanks for stopping by!

I hope this week is a good week for you. I don’t actually hate my job but I would like a new one. 🙂 I am currently working on my own business so I would love to leave the job I am at and just do that and maybe get a PT job and take care of the kids. That would be wonderful.

Have a great week, Karen! Happy Reading! 🙂

I didn’t think hating my job would effect me so much. It is hard not to take it home with me though.
I wish you luck on leaving the job you are at and just working part time.
      Thanks for stopping by Michelle!

That is awesome news about your son. Although he is not 100% settled, I hope it lightens your load a little. When I was teaching, I always found it funny how the kids thought it was so much better when your were grown. Seriously? When the kid was younger, it was doing all her things, and now it’s just work, pay bills, repeat. Glad you got a workout in. Boxing is so great for getting it out of the system. I sort of miss my kickboxing classes.

I have never tried kickboxing. It looks like fun! Kids are so funny, but we have all been there.
      Thanks for stopping by Sam!

Glad things are getting sorted with your son. Some kids aren’t meant for a classic classroom. I love my job but it comes with sacrifices and requires dedication.

That’s great news about your son! I hope that night school is a much better fit for me. And oh gosh, it SUCKS when you hate your job. I had one for three years and I just hated it – it was part time, but still.

Kids want to grow up so fast. Our 16 year old, thinks that adulthood is going to be a piece of cake because he is going to go int he military. Ha! He doesn’t like to be told what to do now, it’s even worse there. I’m glad that were able to get everything all settle with your son though and it is all working out for him.

I hope you have a fantastic week coming up. 🙂

I wish my son would join the military. It would straighten him right out! Good luck to your son. I was in the Army and I can tell you that your son will learn a lot about himself. The transformation will surprise you I bet.
      Thanks for stopping by Jenea!

That’s such good news about your son! I know this has been looming over you for almost (over?) a year now. State ID and night school will be easy tasks to getting him squared away. I hope he appreciates you for all you’ve done for him in handling the charges and helping him get what he has needed. He will soon find out that being an adult is not a bed of roses the movies paint it to be, or as my students believe everything being paid for by endless swipes of mom’s plastic card. Like, what, a bill comes in the mail? You have to PAY that!? HA! While I haven’t been exercising, I have been losing weight thanks to my Plexus! I can definitely feel it in my lower abdomen and in my thighs. Now if only some of the upper belly would melt away. Congrats on getting back to some kind of exercise routine!

Hahaha! My son has no plastic and certainly won’t get any from me. I feel especially bad for those kids. I don’t know what a Plexus is but I am definitely going to look into it. Good for you! Thanks for stopping by Charlie!

Glad to hear things worked out so well for you. Your son may not enjoy his new found adulthood as much as he thinks he will but glad things worked out for you both. Sorry you’ve not heard anything yet about another job but hopefully, you’ll hear something soon. WIth all the work you’ve put in I’m sure you will.

Hope you have a good week.

Sounds like things are moving in a good direction for your son though I’m sure it’s been more than a little more challenging than you would have wanted. It is funny when kids start realizing that the world isn’t all fun and doing what you want. Mine have gotten a little bit more humble! Too bad about the wasted time on the DNF. It messes with my mind not to finish a book I’ve started especially if it has the slightest bit of potential but I’ve gotten better about it because I’ve finally realized how much time slogging through a book I’m not enjoying takes. Have a great week!

Sorry it’s taking so long to hear about the new job! I thought you would know this week. 🙁

Glad that all went well with your son and yay for workouts!

Sorry about the DNFs. 🙁 I hate wasting time on a book and to make matters worse I normally finish the book and STILL hate it.

Hope you’ve had a good week this week!
