mv Hello Lovelies! Welcome to my weekly wrap up!

Oh boy, this was a rough week! As you might remember from last week, I took my Mother home on Sunday from the hospital. She had a total knee replacement and I took her home against the physical therapist’s (PT) advice. The PT people wanted me to send her to a rehab (re: nursing home) until she was stronger. Hmph!

I made the right decision for her. My Mom has been getting stronger and more independent everyday. Monday I had a day off and I met the home nurse and visiting PT. They have both been wonderful and I am sure that since my Mom is home she is even more motivated to walk on that knee. She is still using a walker, but Friday she walked up the stairs to the second floor (where her room is), and she is getting ready to do it again as soon as I am done posting this.

Tuesday and Wednesday my 17 year old son stayed home with his Mema, and took good care of her between home visits. I had Thursday off and that was also the first day of school for my kids. We had an informal meet the teacher on Monday and I really couldn’t be happier with who both my kids got this year. I could go on-and-on about how wonderful both of these teachers are, but I will save that for another time. Just picture me smiling, knowing that both my kids are in really capable hands this year. Even my 17 year old is off to good start this year for school. Admittedly it has only been two days, but I see him committing himself to starting off the year right.

Friday, I was able to leave my Mother home alone for the first time since her surgery. She was able to feed and toilet herself. She was totally okay and handled a visit from the PT on her own. I am feeling a little smug knowing that I did the right thing for her.

Between school starting and my Mother, I haven’t got anything blogged this past week. I have been reading a lot. In fact, I now have 5 books just waiting for me to review. I was doing good with commenting too until I went back to work on Tuesday. We had a few social engagements after work and getting everyone settled in this week that left me short on time, but they saved my sanity this week, too.

Fitness this week:

I am convinced that this week will be the week I am getting back into it. I am really serious about that. I want to have at least one workout in by Friday and then I will reward myself with some boxing gloves to go with the new 100lb punching bag I now have hung up in my basement. I already have the wraps, but to be honest it just hurts without the gloves.
