Weekly Wrap Up #127

Reading time 3 mins

mv Hello Lovelies! Welcome to my weekly wrap up!

What a week! It started off normally. I worked last weekend. I posted a few reviews. I read a lot. I worked an off tour on Thursday. I worked til midnight and then drove the hour home. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.

I had Friday off and got to watch my oldest daughter, Belle, graduate high school. It was nice but I got aggravated early with people saving seats, having more than 3 tickets, and people milling around in front of the exit. The ceremony was actually pretty entertaining and I got great pictures of Belle. I feel like a big milestone has passed. I feel lucky but seeing her all grown up is a bit bittersweet. I might have wept a bit watching her walk. #iamsuchasap

Last night (Saturday) we have a big party in New York (the state not the city). I am hoping we have/had fun. Right now I am really looking forward to an adult night out! Today, Father’s Day and a kid’s birthday party at a friend’s house. I don’t know about you, but I dislike kid’s birthday parties with random people. It is always so awkward. Do your drop off the kid, or stay and try to make uncomfortable conversation? At my kid’s birthday parties I always tell parents to just leave their kid and a cell number. I don’t like forced socialization. Luckily this party is our good friend’s house so it should be fun for everyone.

I hope you all enjoy the day and don’t forget to call your dad. My father died when I was six and I pretty much grew up without a dad. I have a bit of envy for people that have a good relationship with their fathers. I hope you know how lucky you are.

Coyer Summer Challenge started yesterday. I am doing this! I don’t have any reviews ready quite yet, but this week I hope to knock a few out. Are you doing COYER?

Fitness this week:

I did some walking this week. At work. Okay, I only did “walking rounds” as required. I am totally getting back to working out this week. Probably.

What did you do this week?

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~ A post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received. See what other blogs have planned for the week ahead.

Edit: I guess I forgot to include the past 2 weeks of posts, again. I will try to remember next time. Or maybe I should just go back to doing a wrap up every week.

I can’t wait to write the review for The Handmaids Tale. I was thinking about talking about the show too, since it inspired me to read the book. Lol! I just realized I only talked about the past week, and I am doing bi-weekly wrap ups. Oops! Oh well. Thanks for stopping by Evelina!

I hope the night out went well, as well as the kid’s party! Congrats to your daughter. Sorry about the annoying people though – sigh. People are just rude sometimes.

I’m actually not a fan of any party lol. I prefer to stay home! 🙂 However, I do it for my kids because they love doing to parties.

So glad you are joining COYER, Summer is always the best time to start! It’s always very fun and unique.

Have a great week, Karen! Happy Reading!

Damn kids making us do things, lol! The party was fun for all. My kids were the only other ones there, it was mostly family but a really comfortable party nonetheless. I am glad we all had fun. I am looking forward to getting some of these books read/reviewed for COYER. I love the extra motivation of a challenge. Thanks for stopping by!

  7. Congratulations to Belle! Graduation behavior can be so awful. When my daughter graduated the people in front of us stood up and started telling everyone they were with goodbye right before she was about to walk. My husband asked them to sit down and explained why and they did but you would have thought he had asked them to grow a 2nd head the way they looked at us. I HATE birthday parties! That awkward small talk is the worst and I never quite no what to do. Have a great week!

Congratulations to your daughter on her graduation! I remember my son’s graduation being the same…crowds of rude people! Drove me nuts.
I’m planning on reading the Handmaid’s Tale, I’ve heard it’s excellent. I’m looking forward to your review 🙂
    Have a great week!

I read 3 reviews for the 3rd book in The Falconer series and I thought that was sign I needed to read it. Thanks for stopping by Di!

I’ve heard great things about The Falconer.

You’re not a sap! Graduating is a pretty big milestone! My oldest niece is turning 16 this year and it feels like I was just changing her diapers a few years ago lol
