mv Hello Lovelies! Welcome to my weekly wrap up!

I have been bit absent this past week. I kinda blew off even writing my weekly wrap up last week, so now I have some catching up to do.

Those of you that know me, know that I don’t “blog ahead”. Last weekend we hosted a party and I simply ran out of time over the weekend.  I know that sounds like a shit excuse, but it is the truth. Hosting a party takes way more of a time commitment then just going to one. I was sure it wouldn’t be a big deal to miss one wrap up. I fully anticipated doing a double wrap up this week.

Monday I started my new job. I thought I would be going to the same type of unit I worked at in Florida, but they surprised me and threw me into something completely different. I feel like it will be a fun place to work. The one hour commute to work allowed me to listen to 2.5 books this week. I actually did start writing those reviews, but once again time got away from me. I am also really behind on visiting blogs lately. I hope to get that fixed this coming week.

We got our car tax bills last week from the town we live in, in Connecticut. The 5 vehicles we own racked up over $1000 in taxes. We don’t have fucked up taxes like that in Florida, so it came as quite a shock to us. I feel like we could have been really happy here, but that bill, along with all the other crap we pay was too much for here in CT, assures us that we are only breaking even right now. My Miguel and I can’t afford to live here anymore. That bill was the last straw. We looked at states close by, like Mass where my job is actually located and New York, but they all have taxes like that. I don’t want to retire in a bankrupt state, and I don’t want to scrape by and keep paying these ridiculous taxes.

My Miguel’s job has an opening in South Dakota, so we are looking into moving. It kinda sucks because I just started my job, but we have to think long term. The town we are looking at, Sioux Falls, was rated #10 in top places to live last year. SD has no state taxes and the pay is not bad. Of course, snow is an issue, but at least we will pay less to live. We had to wait 2 years before he could apply for a transfer and SD was one of the states we hoped we could relocate to. His job will pay for all moving expenses and will even buy our home if it doesn’t sell in 3 months. They will also ship our cars for us. We don’t loose anything by relocating. I applied for a position at the same location as my Miguel’s prospective job.

Fitness this week(s):

I don’t want to be skinny anymore, I want to be strong. I have been really good with making my fitness a priority, even since starting the new job. I worked out 6 days last week, and 5 days this week. Ya, I missed a day, but I jumped right back.

I am actually down 9 lbs since early December. Not that the scale is my only indication. My belly is flatter and I actually feel stronger. Next week I will be taking accountability pictures again. I am excited to show off my progress so far.

I think this week Miguel is buying me a stationary bike. Cardio is harder and harder to get in since it almost dark, or all the way dark, by the time I get to it on work days. Also, snow and rain have made going out and walk/running almost impossible. We have a recumbent bike, but I want a bit more of a challenge.

Last week I did my 5k for #Fitreaders.
