mvmHello Lovelies! Welcome to my weekly wrap up!

I had a great week! Wednesday I went to the eye doctor and got an exam. I went ahead and got a trial for contacts and ordered new glasses. I have had contacts before but the prescription wasn’t right, so they didn’t help my vision at all. The ones I got this week were right on. It is so nice to be able to see correctly without having to wear glasses. I mean, I ordered a cute pair as a back-up, but I hate them falling off my face and/or finding myself looking around them to the blurry world. I am loving it right now.

Friday we decided to drive out to see the Statue of Liberty. It was a spur of the moment idea but the trip went well. Except for the traffic, OMG it was crazy, the trip was fun. I have always wanted to see Lady Liberty. We didn’t actually go through New York, we went through a bit of Manhattan and then skated over to New Jersey’s Liberty Park. We saw the New Jersey World Trade Center memorial and got a nice view of the back of the Statue from the island. We are planning a trip into the city very soon and also plan to take a ferry to Liberty Island, so that will be really cool. I feel like New York and the surrounding areas did not look like what I pictured. I don’t know what I expected but that wasn’t it. It was really surreal to be so close and see how big the city really was. I can definitely see the allure of living right in the there in the thick of it. We took some pictures.

My teenagers are gonna kill me for posting that photo of them, but I am such a proud mamma. I love how happy they all look in the picture.

This Thursday the new Beyond the Books will be posted. This week we are discussing “If I had $1000, I would buy….”. Well, what would you do with $1000 right now?
