Carrie’s Story -Blog Tour Review

cleis press

I am a big fan of BDSM. The players, the clothes, the scenes …makes my mind wander. I am intrigued by the lives of people that deal absolutely in pain and pleasure. I have read loads of BDSM, even before I knew what the letters stand for. I knew about Carrie before I read this book. I have read the reviews and I had an idea. Like flocks of others, I even read Fifty Shades. It made me think I knew what the book Carrie’s Story would be like. I didn’t. This book is different, it is the original tale of a woman who decides to become a slave.

Carrie’s Story is brilliantly written. The character of Carrie is strong and willing. She submits beautifully to a world I hope really exists.

carrie's story

Things about this story seem fake, too good to be true, too harsh to be tolerated. This is fiction though. As fiction goes Carrie might be the heroine I have always wanted. She is cool. The author portrays Carrie as a young brave woman discovering her sexuality and exploiting her submissiveness. I adore her. I want to be that cool. The book is written in first person. We see inside Carrie’s mind as she submits.

Carrie meets Jonathan at a party. Jonathan invites Carrie to be his slave and opens her up to a world she never knew existed. The relationship progresses and Carrie’s training takes a new twist as Jonathan begins to train her for the next step in submission. She goes into pony training for a spell. Although I didn’t think I would enjoy it, I found I had to follow Carrie there. Carrie’s Story delivers on the secret world of pony-training and makes it seem not only believable, but also quite bearable. Carrie’s journey doesn’t end there. I don’t want to spoil it for you, but Carrie’s journey takes us for an unforgettable ride into slavery as I never imagined it.

There is an interesting thing about Carrie’s Story that is very different then other BDSM I have read. Carrie submits without regard to who or what she is submitting. She is a slave entire. There is not selfish gain in her slavery. The “relationship” she has with Jonathan is not the focus of her submission. She submits for her own growth. There seems to be no end to what she endures and no need for her to be validated from him alone. I find this sort of submission so alluring and frightening at the same time. This sort of submission is dangerous, in reality, but very entertaining.

Carrie’s Story is a bit explicit in its sexual detail but it doesn’t not read like smut. I found this book sexy and smart. It gave my erotic reading a smart story line and a character I could admire. Carrie’s Story is written by Molly Weatherfield (the alter ego of an award winning romance writer). The author brilliantly allows us to peer into Carrie’s thoughts to see her way of thinking. I highly recommend this book as well as the sequel Safe Word.

I received this book from Cleis Press for review. Soon after I started reading it, I came to the conclusion that I needed it on my kindle as well, so I could read it at work. I have this book in paperback and in digital format. I liked it that much. Carrie’s Story can be purchased here and here.

Morning, Noon and Night

cleis press

This book takes the reader around the clock with erotic tales for every hour of the day. Alison Tyler edits this collection of sex tales. Twenty five sexy tales of gotta have it now sex.

This book includes stories by Aisling Weaver, Jax Baynard, Dante Davidson, Heidi Champa, Cheyenne Blue, Georgia E. Jones, Justine Elyot, Donna George Storey, Jeremy Edwards, Kat Watson, Angell Brooks, Thomas S. Roche, Sasha White, Cora Zane, Kristina Lloyd, Sommer Marsden, Teresa Noelle Roberts, Victoria Janssen, Kate Pearce, Preston Avery, Ashley Lister, N.T. Morley, Vida Bailey, Sophia Valenti, and Alison Tyler.

morning, noon and nightThese stories are great for a quick read. they are sexy and daring. Some of them take place outside the bedroom. I loved the at work stories like 5am Walk of Shame, 9am Office Briefing, 1pm Test Drive, 3pm Closed-Door Meeting, 4pm No-Show. These characters run the risk of getting caught in the act. Getting it on, on the clock!

Getting ready for work, break time quickies, coming home from work, and changing shifts gives context for other stories. 4am Wake Up Call, 7am Change of Shift, 8am Morning Wood, and Noon Lunchtime Rendezvous all take place on the edge of the workday. Time constraints and relieving stress come into play and all these players get some frustration out. There are a few stories that happen outside of the work day as well.

Probably my favorite story involved the end of a shift. Alison Tyler’s 3am Last Call ends this book with a bang….a gang-bang! This story was so hot I had to stop reading and get myself off. I just love the sexy way she writes, it’s all body parts and dirty thoughts.

This collection, published by Cleis Press, is full of sexy erotic stories that are well written. The book Morning, Noon and Night can be purchased here and here.

Cheeky Spanking Stories

cleis press

Spanking is something I enjoy. The sting of pain followed by the realization that I really needed that. The pain brings immediate release. This book explores spanking and some of the relationships it takes place in. It is cheeky and isn’t afraid of sexuality. It dominates and submits for the reader. It is a wild ride.

The book Cheeky Spanking Stories is a collection of 23 erotic spanking tales. It is edited by Rachel Kramer Bussel. The authors in this book include: Lucy Felthouse, Cecilia Duvalle, Craig J. Sorensen, Donna George Storey, Kiki DeLovely, Teresa Noelle Roberts, Giselle Renarde, J. Sinclaire, Elizabeth Silver, Kate Dominic, Elizabeth Coldwell, Maggie Morton, Evan Mora, Jade Melisande, Andrea Dale, Dorothy Freed, Cynthia Rayne, Shanna Germain, Thomas S. Roche, Adele Haze, Lucy Hughes, Isabelle Gray, and Rachel Kramer Bussel.

This book describes exactly why spanking is my kink. Starting with the story The Perfect Domme by Lucy Felthouse. Mia forgot her roommate had her brother stay with them. Wearing her SPANK ME hot pants opens the door for him to prove his skills. The stories follow the curve and keeps it sexy all the way to the last story Marks by Rachel Kramer Bussel about a couple of spanking kinksters at an adult resort trying to be discreet.

This book explores hot spanking with no regard to sexual orientation. There are a few hot stories about men submitting to their lovers (both male and female), and women dominating other women. My absolute favorite story was about anonymous spanking. Butch Girls Don’t Cry by Giselle Renarde was steamy hot. Used, abused, and absolutely willing, this girl gets more than she set out for when she ventures out of her apartment. The Assignment by Donna George Storey is another hot number. A freelance author digs into interviewing a pay-for-play spank daddy for an article. She discovers why spanking isn’t such a bad thing, especially when the Dom is an expert.

This book was hot I highly recommend it! Cheeky Spanking Stories can be purchased here and here.

Thrones of Desire

cleis press

Thrones of Desire is a fantasy erotic book that contains 14 short stories from various authors. I am a big fan of romantic chivalry. Anytime you can throw a knight in front of a dragon for the love of a woman, you have my undivided attention! There are a few fighting heroins in this book as well. The woman in these stories are as strong as their male counterparts. The stories are complete with adventure, myths, legends, and swords. The characters are full of lust for life and love.

Romantic chivalry is alive and well in these mythical kingdoms, but so are secrets and hidden yearnings as the battle for flesh rivals the battle for power. In editor Mitzi Szereto’s own words, “You’ll find it all right here: corrupt kings, lusty queens, handsome princes, virginal princesses, randy knights, wicked sorcerers, kickass heroines, vengeful witches, mysterious shape-shifters…and we’re definitely not short on a few dragons either!” Inspired by the television series Game of Thrones, these imaginative, steamy tales transport the reader to romantic and dangerous realms.

thrones

Thrones of Desire is edited by Mitzi Szereto and includes a Foreward by Piers Anthony. The book contains stories by Janine Ashbless, Sacchi Green, Ashley Lister, Eric Del Carlo, Kim Knox, Anna Meadows, Madeline Moore, Jo Wu, M.H. Crane, Aurelia T. Evans, Nyla Nox, Megan Arkenberg, Zander Vyne, and Mitzi Szereto.

This book touched on mythical kingdoms and secrets. All of the main characters are heroes in their own right and more than a few start off as captives and must fight their way out and into the arms of the ones they love. I was swept away into the worlds of these stories. If you love fantasy writing, this book is for you. All of the stories contain an erotic element, but I felt that the sex was not the main attraction. This book is not smut. These are fantastical stories of myths and knights, with a sexy element.

I loved this book!

My absolute favorite love story in this book was in Key to the Queen’s Elixir by Jo Wu. This story was about a snow queen and an intruder. The love story backdrop was, well…it was haunting. A knight is hunting for the elixir that will save the children of the kingdom and he gets much more than he expected from the snow queen.

The story Flesh and Stone by Sacchi Green was another very memorable story. Sacchi Green writes with such passion that I can feel her characters. This story follows the sale of a girl at the slave market. She becomes the possession of the ‘woman champion from the mountains’. A woman that can turn men to stone. The slave soothes her mistress before redirecting her attention to the man who turned to stone. “The mind is the body’s most sensuous organ.” Indeed Sacchi! This tale is very sensual.

All of the stories had thick plots that are tough to try to describe in this little review. I know the fantasy writing of this book won’t appeal to everyone, especially since the sex is buried beneath such armor. To those that love fantasy worlds though, this book will be such a good fit.

Thrones of Desire is published by Cleis Press, it can be purchased here and here.

Going Down

cleis press

A book of twenty-one stories that highlights the acts and love of oral sex. This book was inspiring and seductive. My love for oral sex comes and goes. This book definitely inspired my mood for oral. This book includes stories by Charlotte Stein, Jacqueline Applebee, Cynthia Hamilton, Sylvia Lowry, Logan Zachary, Shanna Germain, Annabeth Leong, Jeremy Edwards, Jeanette Grey, Dusty Horn, Roxy Rogers, Mary Borsellino, Lucy Felthouse, Tenille Brown, Neil Gavriel, Rachel Kramer Bussel, Chrissie Michaelis, A.M. Hartnett, Elizabeth Coldwater, and Graydancer. Going Down is edited by Rachel Kramer Bussel and published by Cleis Press.

Rachel Kramer Bussel is hands down my favorite editor. She selects the best and most thought provoking stories for her collections. I always find something I wouldn’t have expected in her books. This book stayed on point with stories that highlighted the act of oral sex, but also included some things I just didn’t see coming. Some of my favorites stories were:

Pretty Dull by Charlotte Stein. This story of two lovers got my in the mood and set the tone for this book. The woman in this story finds herself the object of affection from a most unlikely source. Surprise, you are just the thing to brake up the monotony of this man’s dull married life!

Shuck It by Dusty Horn. If this story doesn’t make you hot, I don’t know what will! The woman in this story describes in detail her love for food and her woman. I don’t even eat oysters but this book made me wish I was part of the feast!

New Additions by Rachel Kramer Bussel. A woman is asked to become a third in this story of oral fun. Sharing is so much fun with the ones you lust. I wish I had friends like that when I was single!

Snow Job by H. M. Harnett. “Jesus, Mary and Joseph!” This story about a guy trying to do his job while plowing snow is hot! A lonely woman uses this man to get what she needs and he ends up with a ends up with his plow in a ditch.

The Thousand and One Ways by Graydancer. In this story a woman runs down all the ways she she performs oral as his houri, or pet slut. This tale really got me thinking about trying new techniques. Who knew there were so many ways to please with your mouth?

I loved that this book featured male and female oral sex. The stories I picked were all mostly about female characters, but don’t let that stop you from checking out this collection. It is really hot!

Like a Cunning Plan: Erotic Trickster Tales

cover

The book Like A Cunning Plan: Erotic Trickster Tales is a collection of 7 stories. It is published by Circlet Press and edited by Micheal M. Jones. This book features stories by Nica Berry, N. Violett, Nadine Wilmot, Elizabeth Schecter, Gayle C. Straun, Kaysee Renee Robichaud, and Sunny Moraine. It is an eBook of 150 pages. This book is a quick read…I wanted more. More tricksters and their sexy stories. More adventures to to steal me away from reality. I enjoyed this book very much. The stories varied and did not all feature strictly hetero sex. There was no bondage of the flesh, just mental imprisonment.

From Coyote to Loki, Anansi to the kitsune, tricksters are a staple of mythology, folklore, and pop culture. Some might call them selfish, but we all know the truth: they’re just focused on the next big score or clever trick. Armed with a sly smile and quick wit, they act as agents of change, leaving chaos and confused victims in their wake. Of course, tricksters also make great lovers–unpredictable, creative, adventurous, and experienced in all the right ways.

In Like A Cunning Plan: Erotic Trickster Stories, gods and mortals alike interact in sexy, playful, sensual ways, and it’s anyone’s guess as to who comes out on top. A bounty hunter gets more than she bargained for when her mark shows up on her doorstep, a masked ball provides ample opportunity for an intimate encounter, a god on the prowl discovers a new side to his desires, and much more.

This book features stories by Nica Berry, N. Violett, Nadine Wilmot, Elizabeth Schecter, Gayle C. Straun, Kaysee Renee Robichaud, and Sunny Moraine. The book is edited by Micheal M. Jones.

I loved the variety of tricksters in this book. I enjoyed almost every story in this collection. From one story to the next I found myself getting lost in these stories. These tricksters use shady tactics to get what they want. The stories were dirty in the most delicious ways. The characters were fantastical but sexy in a real way. The situations and environment these tricksters live in was far out, but every one of the stories were well written and sexy. From shape shifters to temple Gods these stories gave me a great sex-full escape and whet my appetite for more from this collection of authors.

My absolute favorite was Fools Rush In by Elizabeth Schecter. What a fantastical story! The author gives us a glimpse inside the mind of a thief trying to prove something. First that the impossible can be done and second that he is in control. My thoughts are still reeling from this story. It featured my the hottest sex scenes in my opinion. This story alone is worth the price of this collection, but the other stories are all well written and entertainingly sexy as well. Get this book and enjoy!
