The Best Part of My Day ~Beyond the Books

Reading time 2 mins

I have actually been looking forward to this topic. I hope everyone has one of these, I have a few.

Today we are talking about the best part of our day.

The best part of my day (in the morning) is right after Miguel and the older kids leave for school and I have about 20 minutes to myself before waking the babies up to get ready for their day. I have a quiet house and coffee all to myself. I am not a weirdo morning person, but something about the beginning of a day seems special. The day seems to have unlimited possibilities. Nothing has gone wrong yet. This is usually the part of the day that I make out my to-do lists. Sometimes I can get a whole blog post in because I am uninterrupted and I work a bit better under pressure. 20 minutes, start the timer and GO!

Another time of the day that is pretty awesome to me is when the sun is when the sun is just going down. You know that ten-or-so-minute span of the day when things look kind of yellow. I think this is the most favorite part when I am outside. I don’t catch it every time, but I am super happy whenever I do. It just seems like such a magical part of the day.

So those are my favorite times of the day.

Honorable mention goes to:

  • The moment I see Miguel after a long day of separation *heart flutters*
  • Snuggle time with my kids and/or Miguel on our king-sized bed at the end of the day
  • Hearing the UPS, USPS, or FedEx truck outside of my house
  • Opening the package that UPS, USPS, or FedEx left at my house

What is you favorite part of the day?

I love hearing the UPS/FedEx/Mail truck! A package always brightens my day. I’m definitely with you about the morning. I love the few minutes after I get everyone dropped off and I can sit down for a minute, drink my coffee and figure out my day. I’ve found if I don’t end up having that I’m slightly more frazzled for the rest of the day. And snuggle time is pretty great too!

I get to work early, about thirty minutes before work starts. I use that mind to finishing waking up and read blog posts. I love having that time to prepare myself for the rest of the day!

It makes such a difference when you make a plan, right? At least then you know if things went they way you had hoped.

My post was about martinis, ha ha, but my first cup of coffee in the morning is a great time and when my son gets home from work. When he hets home from school he doesn’t have much to say, but when he gets home from work he usually stops into my office to chat. Weird, you would think school would be more interesting to talk about. Gosh, I miss the cuddling in bed with my son when he was little. I need some grandchildren!

Nice that he talks to you everyday. I used to talk to my son, but he is a teenager now so he has no words for me. I hope one day he will stop by everyday so we can chat.

My favourite part of the day is any time I get 10 minutes of quiet just to sit. With mine and my husbands erratic schedules that could be 9 in the morning, 10 at night or in the middle of they but I take time to savour it.

I can’t get up early… I used to be able to do it, but I just can’t anymore. Your picture of the morning light makes me feel like I should, but I know I need my sleep.
I love the quiet in the evening when everyone else has gone to bed…
I hope you’re having a great weekend, Karen!

I stay up late here too but it is not my most productive time anymore. I go to bed last and get up first so very tired by bedtime.

Parcels! Especially book parcels. I love the moment when the parcel is delivered and I am about to open it.
