LELO Smart Wand Medium

I have been lusting over the LELO Smart Wands since I saw them on the LELO website months ago. FunWares was kind enough to send me a LELO Smart Wand medium size for review. The Smart Wand comes in medium or large and comes in either black, white, or purple.

LELO took the idea of the wand for massage and sensual play to the next level. The Smart Wand is easy to use with a three button interface. It has smooth velvety feel to it and a small bit of shiny plastic right on the handle. The silicone is matte and feels velvety. It has a slight drag to it. The head has a bit of flexibility, it bends slightly when pressure is applied. It is lightweight and weighs 5.47 oz. It is so quiet I have to touch it to make sure it is on, it is barely audible unless it is on high and near my ear. The silicone on the wand encases the head and the handle for a completely waterproof seal.

The buttons are located in the middle of the wand. The (+) button is on top and turns the wand on and the vibrations up. The bottom button is a (-) and it turns the wand off and turns the vibration level down. The middle button is a (()) and it controls the functions. The Smart Wand also uses something called SenseTouch technology. Basically it “knows” when it is in contact with skin and the vibrations increase when it is being touched and decrease when it isn’t touching skin. I don’t know how it does it, but it actually works. This mode is great because it saves on power if you need to take a break or stop suddenly. It picks up right where it left off when it makes contact with skin. The technology is there if you want it. You can also use it without the SenseTouch by holding down the middle button for three seconds, or until it starts to flash.

When the Smart Wand is in the SenseTouch mode the buttons lights up and pulses when the massager is on. When the SenseTouch mode is not activated it only lights up when a buttons is pressed while in use. The buttons lights come on and flash when the Smart Wand is plugged in and charging. The lights stop flashing when it has a full charge. The port for the plug is located on the bottom of the base. The Smart Wand takes about 2 hours to reach a full charge and offers about 2 hours of play on a full charge.

I found the vibrations to be deep and rumbly. I loved the Smart Wand for massage and for intimate play. The highest setting of the Smart Wand is a pretty intense. The level of vibrations will work for most people, they definitely worked for me. I have to report that the vibrates did not seem as intense on the SenseTouch mode then they did in normal mode. When the Smart Wand is in the SenseTouch mode the vibrations just weren’t as impressive. The Smart Wand felt good in my hand. The buttons are placed where I could reach them easily, but not hit them accidentally during play. The handle vibrates slightly when it is on high, but not too much to cause me hand numbing during use. The curve aids in getting this vibe to reach places that a straight wand couldn’t.

To clean the Smart Wand just use soap and water. Only use water-based lubricant on the Smart Wand, since it has the silicone cover. The LELO Smart Wand came packaged in a white box instead of the black luxury boxes I am used to seeing. I guess for LELO the white box signifies something less dark than a sex toy, this is a body massager. The box contained a saple of LELO water-based lubrication, instructions for care, a satin drawstring pouch, the charger, and details of the 1 year warranty/10 year guarantee. After the one year warranty is up LELO gives you 50% toward the purchase of a new one if the product should fail mechanically. I love that LELO stands behind their products.
