Today we are talking about body ink.
I love tattoos. I have 4 of them and each one holds a special meaning for me. I spent years thinking about my first tattoo. I wanted to make sure it would be some thing I was willing to have on my body forever. I think tattoos are a great way to express yourself with art on your body.
My first tattoo was simple but had a lot of meaning for me. I have added to it over the years and unfortunately, I only have pictures of the additions.
The top block was my first. These are rune stones. The top one means mystery and/or intuition. The others mean abundance and wholeness. Runes are ancient symbols (with sounds as in letters for language). Runes used to be used for divination, or fortuntelling. Runes are a very old ways of seeing the future so some of the meanings are primative. I love the idea of simplicity. Most people have no idea what those symbols is mean anymore.
My next tattoo I got to cover a scar. I love owls so of course I really love this tattoo. The great horned owl is my favorite! The quote says “Wisdom is nothing more than healed pain”. For me this is so true.
The next tattoo is like my motto. It says “Live through this. Live to tell. Live to tell.” To me that just sums everything up. Eventually, I am gonna write everything down and call it a memoir. I just gotta get through it first.
My last tattoo is my newest one. I love placement and the font of this one. The letters are my initials and my Miguel’s.
So obviously, I love tattoos. I especially love the ones that have meanings and a story behind them.
Do you have any tattoos? Why or why not?
