Good question! I know this is touchy for some people. I know some bloggers are even afraid to put their face on their site. I understand your fear.
Years back, when I blogged a more personal sort of blog, I kept my blog a secret. I never told people that I had a popular blog, (outside of our lifestyle social setting). I never told people I reviewed things. I had this BIG circle of friends and contacts that I couldn’t share with almost everyone I knew. It was hard to explain my time constraints due to vigilant blogging to people I knew IRL. I told a lot of half truths back then and avoided some topics altogether. I am not good at keeping secrets. Keeping my blog a secret was so hard.
Now that I blog mostly books, I don’t care who knows. Seriously. I. Don’t. Care. who knows about my blog.
I talk about books. A lot. So sometimes it comes up, (it meaning my awesome little slice of the net aka kissinbluekaren.com). I am proud of my site, and I love sharing my passion for books. It is not like I have anything to hide here. I share mostly generic stuff about myself. I would never share like my employer name or any of those taboos. I talk about my kids occasionally (okay, a lot. in all fairness there are FOUR of them so they dominate my life), but it is not like I would be embarrassed if a teacher knew about my site.
So, yea, most people know about my blog.
What say you?
Do people IRL know you blog? Why or why not?
