Silicone Butterfly Miss

Sexpert

The good folks over at Cal Exotics sent me the Silicone Butterfly Kiss this month as part of the Sexpert program. This is the silicone version of their world famous number one selling butterfly. Unfortunately, I hate this thing. I have heard all the rave reviews and I was really excited to get it. But this toy was so far from what I imagined, I am not even sure where to start.

Materials: Silicone (massager) & ABS (cap)

Dimensions: 7″ x 1.25″ (2.75″ insertable)

Silicone Butterfly Kiss

To be fair, let me mention the good points before I dissect this toy and tell you why I hate it. It is made of body safe silicone. Prior versions of the Butterfly Kiss were made of jelly or TPR, which are inferior materials to silicone. This version is a much highly quality material for about the same price as the original. The Butterfly Kiss is waterproof, which is always nice. If you have a low or shallow g-spot this might provide enough stimulation for you. The pop of the bulbous head might be just the thing for you. If you have a thin labia or a clitoris that protrudes (prior to stimulation), this toy might be a great fit. Those little antenna might be enough to send you over the edge. Also, it has a good price point at less than $30 retail.

DSCN5384

This toy has two motors, one in the shaft and one on the butterfly shaped clitoral portion. I had no idea this thing had two motors. It takes 2 AAA batteries for power. Granted, that won’t give me a lot of power, but the silicone of this toy absorbs so much of the vibrations on the butterfly it was ridiculous. I have an expectation that a rabbit style vibe will deliver vibrations (or something) to the clitoris, this vibe didn’t.

The butterfly was clearly meant to deliver something awesome. The wings of this butterfly are meant to rest on either side of the labia while the antenna tickle the clitoris. The body of this butterfly could provide deep rumbly vibes when pressure is applied, but it doesn’t. The antenna are really flimsy and don’t carry vibrations like they should. I tried applying pressure with the butterfly on my clitoris but it has a dip between the wings, where the body is, that just doesn’t allow me to get good pressure there either. My best bet was to totally smash this thing into my labia and pray the vibrations would travel to my clitoris. I found this vibe’s butterfly really frustrating. I am about medium, if you are a bigger girl, (or have bigger labia) forget getting this vibe to hit the clitoris. It can’t. Also, the butterfly portion has visible imperfections in the mold. It looked cheap.

Silicone Butterfly Kiss

Silicone Butterfly Kiss

It looks kinda cute. I could see what they were going for. The shaft is short with a bulbous head. The shaft vibrates. Lots of woman love a bulbous head that provides a pop. Some may love a bulbous head with vibrations like the ones the Silicone Butterfly Kiss provides. I wanted more. I wanted the bulbous head to hit my g-spot. I looked at this toy and thought that the head is meant to provide pressure and vibrations on the g-spot. The problem is that it doesn’t. For me at least. It doesn’t provide good pressure for g-spot. I’m sorry, but it has to be said. This thing couldn’t possibly hit my g-spot right. I need pressure. I need firm pressure for g-spot orgasms. The thin shaft is just too flimsy.

The base unscrews to reveal the battery compartment. On the very bottom of the toy is the one button, which is used to turn it on and scroll through the speeds. The button makes an audible click when it is depressed. It has three speeds. Just three. Loud, louder, and loudest. The noise this toy emitted was distracting. I absolutely hate loud toys. A loud toy that can’t distract me enough with it’s vibrations is unforgivable. This toy can be heard through a closed door, down the hallway, into the next room when it is on high. Use it when you are alone, or with a partner who doesn’t mind the noise.

The vibrations on the shaft were actually pretty powerful. The saving grace with this toy is that the shaft’s bulbous head could be used to stimulate the clitoris or it could be used internally, whichever you prefer. I wish this thing would have worked for me, but it didn’t.

DSCN5378

The Silicone Butterfly Kiss can be cleaned with soap and water or a sex toy cleaner. It is waterproof so at least clean-up is easy. If you decide to try this toy, use only water-based lubrication. The box it came in said Silicone Butterfly Kiss and had a big picture of the toy. It is not very discreet but it is small enough to be used for storage. The Silicone Butterfly Kiss can be purchased at HedoVibes.

Posh Pocket Toyfriend

Toys-For-Women_300x250b

The Posh Pocket Toyfriend is a small discreet clitoral vibe. I had high hopes for the Posh Pocket Toyfriend. I really liked the shape of this vibe and thought it would be as fun for me as the Foxy Toyfriend was. Hello shallow buzzy clitoral vibrations in a pocket sized toy…

Materials: Silicone and ABS Plastic

Dimensions: 3.5″ x .75″

FILE954

I wanted to like this toy. The shape is nice for holding flat on the clitoris (or other body part) or turning on it’s side for more pin point vibrations. The Posh Pocket Toyfriend is not a powerhouse toy. Pushing it hard where I want the vibrations does not really help, unfortunately. It really only results in smashed buzzy vibrations, but not stronger. Lightly placing it were I want vibrations makes me want more. Then I am all like, I want more! Where are my other clitoral toys? My clit is so spoiled. Using this during sex is do-able because it is small and fits nice between bodies. Regrettably, I get so distracted with other sensations that the Posh Toyfriend fades into the background and I am left using the shape to strum my clit with it’s hook-like lip.

Posh is a discreet pocket clitoral vibrator. I think the extra silicone around the head of the tip, the hook type lip, does this toy an injustice. Silicone is not the best vibration conductor and thick hard-ish silicone like on the Posh is even worse. That coupled with the AAA battery for power and we get a vibe that isn’t quite strong enough. I liked the Foxy Toyfriend, it was adequate, but the Posh doesn’t work the same way for me. It is quiet, waterproof, easy to use and has a great shape. I am not sure what else I could ask for…oh wait, a bit more power? Ya, just a bit (or a lot) more power and I would love this toy, instead of just kinda liking it. As it is, I think is an okay toy. But not quite enough for me to make this my go to. This toy frustrated me with it’s almost enough vibrations. Just like the Foxy, it is a tickler and meant to get you started, not really finish you off. It even says so on the side!

DSCN5329

So the Posh is made of body safe silicone and plastic. It is easy to clean with soap and water or a sex toy cleaner. It is submersible, so feel free to take it in the shower, bath, or pool. The silicone is smooth and hard. Really no give at all in the material. The base is made of shiny, smooth plastic. The base screws off to reveal the battery compartment. The Posh is so quiet I can barely hear it at all. It is quieter than a cell phone on vibrate. Oh yea, and it takes 1 AAA battery for power. The battery slides in easy. The battery is loose in the compartment but does not vibrate noisily against the plastic. I am not sure how this is possible.  I sure wish Toyfriend would tell some other companies how they did this.

DSCN5332

The Posh has a slide lock for the battery which also serves as the turn on/off function. The unfortunate thing about that is that I can never remember which way to turn the base to turn it on and half the time I turn it and the base comes loose instead of turning on. Also, if you put it on with the arrow on the other side of the cap, not where the on/off words are, it will not turn on at all. Making you think that the battery is dead. Sending you on a battery hunt when all you wanna do is play with your toy. Then come to find out you had the cap on backwards… oops! More idiot proof please.

In this picture the arrow is not on the black silicone top, letting you know I had the cap on backwards.

DSCN5333

It only has one speed. I would rate it as a 2.5/5. It is not really strong, but some woman may find this is quite enough…a few…like a small percentage of woman probably…the ones who get off on a cell phone vibrations…the ones who don’t know the difference between AA battery power and AAA battery vibrations. Anyways, it is buzzy. Quiet and buzzy.

Also, the box is kinda cute. It is a bit informative and not discreet. The box is a bit playful and fun looking. It comes with the toy nestles in plastic and a small leaflet about care and maintenance. No storage pouch. This toy could probably use one too since it is small enough to loose if you drop it in your big ass luggage sized purse, or your draw full of un-metionables.

DSCN5325

I think this toy would be nice as a first time sex toy. The price is nice and it has some good features. If you hate it you won’t be out a whole lot of money, and if you like it it is a steal at less than $20. If you like light vibrations then this might work for you. Those of you with a clit-o-steel better steer clear of this vibe. The Posh Pocket Toyfriend is available at Lovehoney, the sexual happiness people.

Love Rider Lover’s Thong

Sexpert

Somethings I can tell just by looking at something. I knew right away when I saw this item, that this was a bad idea. Made of silicone straps with a bullet attached, the Lover Rider Lover’s Thong is meant to be worn by the man during sex.

Materials: Silicone (straps) ABS (stimulator) PP (hooks)

Dimensions: Bullet 2.5″ x 0.75″, Waist adjusts to 43”

LoversThongThe Lover’s Thong is available in black, pink, and purple. The beaded ring has a 1.75″ opening and is meant to stimulate him during sex. Above the ring is the bullet which has 3 speeds and 4 patterns, meant to stimulate her during sex. It is waterproof and made of safe materials. Silicone is compatible with water-based lubrication only. This toy requires a bit of lube to work.

Please notice the model this thong is on is a female, two of the color options are generally considered to be feminine. This is meant to be worn on a man. I am just thinking that a guy would have to be pretty adventurous to try this out. I am trying to picture the couple willing to test this out and drawing a complete blank. . . It took so much convincing to get Miguel to try this out and as he predicted, he hated it.

DSCN5185

The straps adjust but ugh, they are silicone. The silicone straps slide through each buckle which has two straps going into it. The straps make me think of face goggles. Growing up in Florida, I have dealt with dozens of face goggles. The straps stretch to a point and then they require sliding through the buckle to adjust. (I would rather just get the damn salt water in my eye and not deal with it.) You need to be pretty close to the right size when you get this on, it is not easy to adjust. The straps are stretchy, but thin. The straps twist and tangle easily. For the purposes of this review I tried this thing on. It was probably my most unflattering look ever and it was uncomfortable. Imagine a 1/2 inch silicone strap digging in your ass. Not comfortable.

DSCN5182

The bullet slides into a silicone sleeve. It is removable. The beads do not stretch and Miguel reported they were uncomfortable. The great news…the bullet takes watch batteries! There are 6 batteries included in the package, and it take three to run the bullet. This is nice since I have never once bought a watch battery for my toys. I kinda consider watch battery taking toys disposable and just toss them when they don’t work anymore.

DSCN5184

The bullet has 3 speeds and 4 patterns, as I said before. It is strong enough but the angle wasn’t right. Miguel didn’t like the way the beads felt on his cock. Then there was a little issue with the straps. It just wasn’t comfortable during sex, we took it off after a few thrusts.

I would change so many things about this, starting with the silicone straps. They are not comfortable due to their thickness. Also, the straps ends need some sort of cushion. Either the strap ends hit me or him depending on whether he wore it inside out or not. I did not enjoy the straps hitting my most sensitive spots, and you probably wouldn’t like it either. The silicone will rub your skin raw with friction unless it is tight, which is terrible because it can feel like it is cutting in. Worse than that, there is a buckle placed at the bottom of the beaded ring. I am sure we all are familiar with anatomy. If worn by a man under the penis are the balls and taint, on the woman, well this thing is all wrong to be worn by a woman…I could go on and on about how much I disliked this item, but I think you get the point.

The Love Rider Lover’s Thong was a fail on a few levels. Sorry, but I know California Exotics can do better.

Happy Rabbit, No Not Really

Happy Rabbit

Lovehoney send me a Lovehoney Happy Rabbit for review. It came in a very nice package and boasted being powerful, rechargeable, splash-proof, and quiet. I was really excited about it, but the toy fell way short of my expectations. I didn’t like this toy, not at all.

Materials: Silicone & ABS Plastic

Dimensions: 9.5″ x 2″ (5.5″ insertable)

Happy Rabbit

I am sure they had great intentions. I just wonder who they had in mind when they made this item. This traditional rabbit style vibe has a cute little face on the clitoral shaft and long (1″) skinny ears. The ears are flimsy. There is a clitoris sized gap between the ears and for the life of me, I could not get this thing to stimulate me. The whole clitoral shaft is almost too firm to bend and the angle is wrong for since it ore like stabs at my clitoris, which makes the ears bend uselessly. My clitoris may be picky, but I doubt most women will like the angle this toy has. The clitoral shaft vibrates too which should help the ears apply stimulation, but it doesn’t transfer well. I think the clitoral shaft was a waste, since it could have been better had the ears been a bit more rigid or shorter and closer to the vibrations.

Happy Rabbit

The shaft vibrates, and that is nice but the shape is kinda boring. This rabbit is made of great materials. The size is just enough girth to satisfy. The shaft feels hallow but firm and can bend. I just didn’t know what to do with the vibrating shaft. I don’t really want a vibrating shaft if it doesn’t hit my g-spot directly. The shape does nothing for me. The shaft has a slightly bulbous end and a slight curve. The smooth texture of this vibe did nothing to stimulate beyond penetration. I couldn’t quite get this vibe in deep enough to get the clitoral arm in direct contact with me. Even though I know 5.5″ doesn’t sound that big, the clitoral arm is just too short to reach.

Happy RabbitHappy Rabbit

I am sad to tell you that those are not the only problems with this rabbit, it is not really easy to use. I have played with rabbit at least half a dozen times and I still had to look up how to make the controls go for this review. It has a two button interface. The buttons are actually in the shape of and explanation point, which is kind of cute. The cuteness ends there though. The top button turns it on and scrolls through the 5 patterns. The bottom button turns on the clitoral arm and scrolls through the 3 speeds. The speeds are not that strong though. To turn it off it says to press and hold down each button. I swear this doesn’t work for me. I will hold them down for at least a count of five, both of them at the same time, and nothing. Then when I hold one button down, after getting extremely frustrated, it will turn off. I haven’t figured out why my toy is like that. If I just hold down a button for five-ten seconds it doesn’t turn off, only after I get frustrated with it. It could be a short or something. I don’t really care though, I just want a toy that shuts off when I tell I to.

Happy Rabbit

The Lovehoney Happy Rabbit recharges. The first time it says to charge it for 6 hours and that will give you 2 hours of uninterrupted play. The charging port is located on the back of the base. The light next to the port glows red when it is charging and green when it has a full charge. The port has a splash-proof cover to keep the motor safe.

Happy Rabbit

Like I said the packaging for this toy was deluxe. It came with a paper slip sleeve over a black box with a faint Lovehoney logo and the words ‘get happy’ on it. The box is nice and could be used for storage. I have found uses for it. Inside the box I found the toy in a plastic cutout with the charger, a small book of instructions, and the a black drawstring storage pouch. The packaging is discreet once you take the slip sleeve off.

Happy rabbit

In conclusion, I would not recommend this vibe. It has far too many shortcomings for the price. I should also mention that Lovehoney has an excellent 100 day return policy. That means you will never be stuck with a toy that you don’t like. Read more about it here.

Thanks to Lovehoney for allowing me to review this vibe.

E.V.A. Massager

Sexpert

E.V.A. “Extreme Vibrating Action” Massager was sent to me this month from California Exotics. I wanted to love this toy. I don’t think the name suits it very well. The vibrations that this toy delivers are buzzy at best. The handle is long enough for thrusting, it’s made of body-safe silicone, it is waterproof…but the flexible shaft just didn’t pleasure me the way it was meant to. This vibe might work for someone who wants buzzy vibes on their g-spot without firm pressure. I love buzzy vibes for g-spot, but firm pressure is a must for me.

Materials: Silicone and ABS Plastic

Dimensions: 7.25″ x 1.25″, 6.25″ insertable

There is so much to love about the length of this vibe. I found thrusting this vibe was easy enough. I was really frustrated with the shaft/tip that didn’t give enough pressure. It has a tapered head which makes it easy to insert. The silicone is smooth without a lot of drag. I am so disappointed about the flexible shaft I could cry. The shape of the product was perfect for me but the shaft is so flexible I just couldn’t get enough pressure to satisfy my g-spot.

The shaft has no texture that I could feel. It is smooth and has a soft silicone tip angled for g-spot (gah! if only). The E.V.A. has a two button interface with a dedicated on/off switch. The button on the top is the on/off button, it looks sort of like this Φ. The bottom button controls the 7 functions, it looks like this ⓦ. The first three settings are low, medium, and high. The rest of the settings are pulsations, waves and escalations. The vibrations are weak. Surface buzzy not at all deep and rumbly. The toy is pretty quiet, almost silent even at the highest setting. I could barely hear it over the television…The vibe runs on 2 AAA batteries. The batteries insert on the bottom. The removable cap is the same, difficult to open twist-lock type, that is found on other Cal Exotics toys. It is water-tight but really hard to close.

Being waterproof makes this toy easy to clean. I use soap and water or a sex toy cleaner. Honestly, I can barely go on with this review. The toy had a lot of promise but being so flexible was a huge disappointment. That coupled with the fact that vibrations are just buzzy made this useless for clitoral stimulation. I wouldn’t recommend this toy for even clitoral stimulation. Unless, of course, surface buzzy vibrations really do it for you. Actually in that case there are plenty of less expensive options.

Icicles #30

pd2930-00_5_2

I have been really intrigued by this toy since the first time I laid eyes on it. I imagined all the ways I could use this toy on my anatomy but my expectations were not very realistic. I found myself wishing for more length and options then this toy was able to offer. The Icicles #30 from Pipedream could have been a great glass toy, but it’s fixed dimensions won’t fit every body. In the end, this toy just frustrated me and left me thinking of ways I would have designed it better.

Materials: Glass

Dimensions: 7.5″ x 1″ main shaft (5″ insertable), 0.5″ x 2″ small shaft

This is a really beautiful toy. Just look at it! you can probably imagine why I really wanted it.

The nice thing about glass is that it is non-porous and good to use with any lubrication. I love using glass for anal play. Not only does glass not harbor bacteria, but it is super easy to clean and compatible with almost any lubricant. Glass can be used for temperature play by either soaking the toy in hot or cold water. The glass hold the temperature for quite a while. The temperature aspect of this toy makes the texture almost obscene. Inserting this toy while it is cold and thrusting carefully created a delicious combination of cold/texture to my vaginal entrance. The frustration of shape was almost forgiven until either I got used to the chill or it warmed to me a bit. Then I was left with a toy that is almost right for me, but really not. The clitoral shaft is retarded in it’s flat angle. The curve on the main shaft goes opposite of my g-spot when I used this for double penetration. That is frustrating! If only this toy had a curve going the other way, I might have been able to love it.

I imagined this toy would be great for double penetration and that the smaller shaft could be used for firm clitoral stimulation. The curve in the main shaft could be great for g-spot stimulation, but my g-spot is so high up I could not get this to work for me. I had to really angle this toy against my public bone to feel the texture of the smaller shaft on my clitoris. I did not get to enjoy the texture on the clitoral shaft, and I didn’t really want it to just poke me there. When I tried to use this for anal and vaginal penetration, the curve on the main shaft felt wrong. The smaller shaft has a bit of texture to it but when I used this toy for double penetration I couldn’t feel the smaller shaft’s texture hardly at all. The ridges on the main shaft are so stimulating, it made the small shaft seem dull.

This is labeled as a unisex toy and could be used by a male for anal play with the smaller shaft stimulation the external p-spot. On a male, the curve would work much better since the shaft will be angled toward the prostate. I do think that the texture on the smaller shaft will be missed on the male anatomy as well. Unless this toy is at a 45° or more acute angle the small shaft will be rendered useless. The shaft left me wishing for more girth. One inch is rather slim for the main shaft of a dual stimulator. The ridges on the main shaft are delightful, but I could not really thrust this as much as I wanted to due to the smaller shaft just getting in the way. Plus the ridges don’t go down that far. I loved the ridges so much on the main shaft I ended up just using it to stimulate my clitoris between thrusts. This resulted in a much longer play session then I had expected. I was not able to orgasm as quickly as I would have liked. I could take it for a few thrusts and then I needed to re-adjust it to keep from creating bruising. The rounded works nice as a handle but it is really slick once it gets lube on it. The glass doesn’t absorb the lube and no matter how hard I tried it always seemed to end up on the handle which resulted in slippage in my hands.

Cleaning this toy is easy with soap and water or a sex toy cleaner. I had to pay special attention to getting it clean around the texture and ridges, but it wasn’t that difficult. Glass toys are meant to last a lifetime. The will not splinter if they break, but instead shatter like a car windshield. Still it is always a good idea to check a glass toy prior to use looking closely for cracks. The Pipedream Icicles #30 comes in a magnetic box that is oversized and has a foam cut out to keep the toy safe. I am sad that there is not storage pouch, but as I don’t see this toy getting much use I guess it doesn’t matter.

On the box it looks like the same ridges that are on the main shaft adorn the smaller shaft, but this is just the way it is photographed. If the smaller shaft would have had the same type of texture this toy might have been forgiven for it’s dimensional flaws, but it doesn’t. This toy would have been better if I could have adjusted the smaller shaft just a bit. Made it flatter, fatter, or curved the main shaft a bit more for my high g-spot. I ended up being frustrated with this toy. It is a beautiful addition to my glass collection, but not a good functional toy.
