This week were are talking about words. I want to talk about words that I think roll nice off the tongue. Words that make me want to add them to my everyday speak. Words that make me stop and take notice of the sentence they belong to. I do love words and these are just of few off my list. Oh yes, I keep a list of words that I love.

Confabulate-

[kuh n-fab-yuh-leyt] verb

  •  to converse informally; chat.
  •   Psychiatry. to engage in

Epistolary-

[ih-pis-tl-er-ee] adjective

  • contained in or carried on by letters: an epistolary friendship
  • of, relating to, or consisting of letters.

Reliquary-

[rel-i-kwer-ee] noun

  • a repository or receptacle for relics

Agrestic-

[uhgres-tik] adjective

  • rural; rustic.
  • unpolished; awkward: agrestic behavior.

Quixotic-

[kwik-sot-ik] adjective

  • (sometimes initial capital letter) resembling or befitting Don Quixote.
  • extravagantly chivalrous or romantic; visionary, impractical, or impracticable.
  • impulsive and often rashly unpredictable.

Jejune-

[ji-joon]  adjective

  • without interest or significance; dull; insipid: a jejune novel.
  • juvenile; immature; childish:
  • lacking knowledge or experience; uninformed:

Sesquipedalian-

[ses-kwi-pi-dey-lee-uh n, –deyl-yuh n] adjective

  • given to using long words.
  • (of a word) containing many syllables.

Pleonasm-

[pleeuh-naz-uh m] noun
  • the use of more words than are necessary to express an idea; redundancy.

 

Sorry, I got carried away. This isn’t my complete list but, I think you get the idea.

For extra fun I thought I would do a video of me trying to pronounce these words and then put them into a sentence.
