Get Fit in 2017

2017 is here! Time to think about those resolutions. Today I want to talk about my #1 personal resolution, to get fit. I invite you all to follow along. I want to share 2 ways I am doing it.

This year I really want to work on my fitness. I know “get in shape” is like the #1 new years resolution since the 80s, thanks in large part to media body-shaming. In recent years, the movement has shifted from body-shaming to fat acceptance. There is a point where fat acceptance is not healthy. I am not on board with either extreme. Obesity isn’t healthy, just like eating disorders do not make you sexy.

I want to get stronger and feel good. Less fat, more fit.

fitbit

The number one thing I am doing to track my fitness this year is using my fitbit to track my activity. I got a fitbit flex 2 for Xmas this year. I didn’t jump on the fitness band craze when they first came out. The good news is that I am not too late to benefit from it, and neither are you.

I am using my fitbit to track my steps and a lot more. The app has so many options now, it is almost essential for anyone who wants to get in shape. The fitbit offers badges for when you set and reach goals. Bring able to see my stats just by looking at my phone is brilliant. The fitbit flex 2 is able notify me of calls and texts on my phone. It reminds me to get moving every hour, unless I hit my goal for that hour. The app also features a way to add friends and do challenges with them.

Bullet Journal

I am also using my bullet journal to track my fitness. I have pages for my weight tracking (not that it is all about the scale), my body measurements, and my workouts. I also have a list of healthy snacks, which I will be sharing in a future post.

Yea, my handwriting and artistry needs work. At least I am trying, right?
